This year's event to benefit the Colton Stout Memorial Scholarship is one that will have you rockin' out to the best bluegrass around! Established in 2014, the Colton Stout Memorial Scholarship was created to help selected students from Anderson and Campbell County obtain their EMT Advanced Certification in my son’s honor and memory. For these students, who have chosen a noble path of public service, your help is confirmation that everyday offers an opportunity to change someone’s life for the better.
As you may know, Colton recognized the significance and obligation of his profession. It defined his life and played a positive role in the lives of others. He served admirably as an EMT with Campbell County, was a proud member of the Anderson County Rescue Squad, as well as a firefighter with Marlow Volunteer Fire Department and he was also a substitute teacher at Clinton High School. Helping others was vitally important to Colton, and it is our mission to carry on his commitment to helping others by awarding scholarships each year to individuals who share similar goals of service and purpose.
This event will commence 7:00 p.m., doors open at 6:00 p.m, April 8th at the Historic Grove Theater in Oak Ridge, “FOLLOW CHAOS, An Evening of Bluegrass.” Mason T and Carl Capps will be performing their unique style of pickin and Hardin Valley Thunder, Pellissippi State's own bluegrass ensemble with Colton's brother, Conor, playing the fiddle.
